- 100% handmade in the UK, in our home in the Peak District by the two of us, Julia and Victor.
- Made with locally sourced beeswax from our local beekeeper based in the Peak District. He has been specialising in growing healthy bees for over 20 years rather than in making bee products, meaning that the bees are not exploited for their produce and that any wax produced is just a by-product of looking after his bees, which gets thrown away otherwise. Thus we hope that the wraps help support sustainable bee keeping.
- Made from antibacterial organic jojoba oil, a sustainable tree resin from Indonesia and 100% natural, undyed, British sourced GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) cotton.
- The stamp is handmade by Victor with 100% natural homemade coffee ink, which uses coffee and nothing else. This is to support the idea of reverting back to completely natural methods of dyeing and to reduce the use of the chemical dye industry and its harmful effects.
- Sizes: Large (33 x 35cm), Medium (26 x 27cm) and Small (20 x 22cm)
- Optional (additional £1.5): GOTS organic double muslin, which is stitched around the edges to prevent fraying and to make it machine washable, made by a ladies' cooperative in Kerala, size 30 x 30cm. The muslin is to prevent bread crumbs sticking to the wraps.
- Optional (additional £0.7): We can also include natural cotton identification strings, tied up on the ends to prevent fraying. Since all the wraps are one colour, to help users tell the wraps apart, we can include different colour strings which can be tied around the wraps, so that you know what's inside.
- Optional (additional £1): zig-zag edges can be added - Victor can pinking shear each edge individually by hand to make sure the wraps don't fray for as long as possible. But because this is pretty labour intensive and time consuming, we can offer this optionally if desired.
